When I saw Marathi serial Swarajya
Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj I feel I should go back in the history and
clear the clouds which had blacken the relations between Chhatrapati Shivaji
Maharaj and his beloved son Shambhu Raje. Its really annoying to see when the
Ministers in the cabinet of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj make plans to defame
Shambhu Raje and try to keep him away from the process of Swarajya, Maratha
Empire and its nourishment.
The history behind Swarajya
establishment and the legacy took forward by Sambhaji Maharaj is well known to
the people of Maharashtra but the history tellers have purposely hide the names
and the mentality behind the brutal death of Sambhaji Reje. Shivaji Maharaj had
his ministers from every level of the society on the basis of their merits and
ultimate calibers, some of them are always been recognized by the generations
over generations but some were never known to the general public.
We know about the Bramhan warrior
Baji Prabhu Deshpande and his courageous battle in Pawan Khind but do we know
about the Anaji Pant and Moreshwar Peshwe? The answer is no. It is always
appreciable that the history writers have put forward a great history of
Shivaji Maharaj, then the question arises why the history of Sambhaji Maharaj
was not kept in the same manner.
Some Marathi movies show the
braveness of Sambhaji but at the same time they put some told and untold
stories which defame the Prince in every manner, right from his being womanizer
to the failed king of the Swarajya. These blames straightly goes to the history
writers and history tellers.
There is also very less information
about all the daughters of Shivaji Maharaj including Raanu Akka. The girls are
said to be very brave but never they came in history neither their descendants
ever came forward with their braveness. The serial is featuring marvelous
sketch of Raanu Akka. Its impressive being called as Shivkanya. Till now the
girls of Maharashtra were proudly called as the daughters of Rajmata Jijaabai
and Savitrimai Phule but there indeed the name of Raanu Akka who was a
Shivkanya and I am sure girls and women would proudly associate with the title
as “Shivkanya”.
The hidden history is dusting out
the sand of decades and Centuries and that history is more and more being
adopted by the people which might help society to reach to its rich heritage.
It has motivated me to research more regarding some hidden facts of the history
and making people of my beloved nation linked with its greatness rather than to
keep them fighting over non issues.
