“There were many activists who were
working at the best of their excellence in the Ambedkarite Movement since the
revolution of upliftment begun. But some of them scattered with the time and
the changing ideologies and political aims and agendas. And some become mere
spectator of all the changes. But J. V. Pawar remained firm on his ideologies
and the promises he made to himself to work for the society till his last breath.
He kept himself coherent to the changing scenario of an Ambedkarite Movement
which made him relevant for all the time.” These were the words of Adv. Prakash
Ambedkar while expressing his gratitude towards J. V. Pawar, the veteran
writer, Analyst, annotator and critic of Ambedkarite Movement during his
Reverence function at Ambedkar Bhavan in Dadar, Mumbai on 1st
December 2018.
J. V. Pawar has recently completed
his 75 years of age which became an objective to
felicitate him for his contribution to the Ambedkarite Movement. A book named
"Chalvalya Shiledar" dedicated to the life and time of J. V. Pawar
was launched by the hands of Hon. Dr. A. H. Salunkhe.
A “J. V. Pawar Amrut mahotsavi
Gaurav Samiti” was formed under the Presidency of Hon. Bhimrao Ambedkar which
has organized the function. Hon. Prakash Ambedkar, Hon. Meeratai Ambedkar, Hon.
Bhimrao Ambedkar, Hon. Anandraj Ambedkar, Hon. Gail Omvett, Hon. Bharat
Patankar, Hon. A. H. Salunkhe and Hon. Sankhye shared the stage with Hon. J. V.
Pawar and his wife Jaimala Pawar. The entire respected person gave the words to
their feelings about J. V. Pawar and his contribution to the Movement. A
Felicitation book namely “Chalvalya Shiledar” consists of 75 articles
written by 75 people expressing their gratitude towards J.
V. Pawar was also launched by the hands of Dr. A. H. Salunkhe.
“The walls between the different
communities of our society are so fragile that they can be built whenever one
wants and they can decline anytime. We need the guidance of the people like J.
V. Pawar who stood firm in every storm and faced every disaster for the
betterment of the society. To guide the new generation J. V. Pawar must keep
writing for many more years,” said Adv. Prakash Ambedkar while concluding his
speech.
Many people who worked with J. V.
Pawar in movement addressed the hall with their experiences about J. V. Pawar
and the chilling movements run by Dalit Panther. The speakers included Comrade
Prakash Reddy, Dr. Prof. V. S. Jadhav, Yuvraj Mohite, Ramakant Yadav, Urmila
Pawar, Ram Jadhav, Dr. Shashikant Lokhande and many more. Mahesh Bharatiya has
anchored the program. The entire family of J. V. Pawar including his elder
Sister in law (Vahini) Shushila Pawar was present at the function.
